Working for the past 20 years in the fields of art, design and technology, I serve corporations, nonprofits and schools. Most recently, I taught STEM Design and Elementary Arts.
Objectives: 1) Provide settings for the student to flourish. 2) Support the journey of each student. 3) Champion student work, making it visible to the community.
Why the arts?
I have observed the power visual language plays in bridging gaps between people and ideas. Whether the work is within engineering, science, technology or math; the power of a communicator who holds artistic vision is critical in making connections visible.
In modeling an analytical way for students to witness patterns and information, as well as organize relationships and materials they encounter, I strive to provide a structure for them to navigate forward with sound understanding of the arts and design process on a path that is their own vision.
Within a community atelier, my students will build, experiment, take creative risk and purposefully play.
